About Auto Lock

The Prevent Auto-Lock feature prevents your phone from locking automatically.

While you are driving, the Pod’s Bluetooth interface wakes up your phone periodically with a volume button press to avoid automatic locking.

Why Do I Need to Enable Auto Lock?

Some Siri and Google Assistant voice commands and some OtoZen functions, such as join Zoom meetings, require your phone to be unlocked. With this feature enabled, you can drive safely without the need to unlock your phone while driving.

Note: The screen will be ON for the duration of the trip, resulting in an approximate increase in power consumption of a few percentage points for an hour drive. Enable this feature only when using voice commands that require you to unlock the phone.

To enable this feature:

1. Tap Profile and then tap Distraction Eliminators.

   

2. Enable the Prevent auto lock.

   

3. Tap Check your settings to check the settings on the Phone.

Manage Auto Lock Phone Settings

The phone’s Auto-Lock value in the Display and Brightness settings must be set to a minimum of one minute.

To Configure iPhone Settings for Auto-Lock

1. Open Phone Settings and tap Display & Brightness.

   

2. Tap Auto-Lock.

   

3. Change the Auto Lock value to 1 minute or greater.

   

To Configure Android Settings for Auto-Lock

Android phones have Display & Brightness settings in different places. Here is one example of a Samsung Phone's settings.

1. Tap Settings and tap Display.

   

2. Tap Screen Timeout.

   

3. Select 1 minute or greater.

   

How is OtoZen's Prevent Auto-Lock feature different from an option in the phone to never lock it?

Certain phones allow you to set your phone never to get locked automatically. However, in this mode, the phone remains always active and consumes the battery. On the other hand, OtoZen prevents automatic locking only when driving, giving you the needed security with better battery savings when not driving.

Is Prevent Auto Lock needed to record the Trip?

No, Prevent Auto Lock is not needed to record the Trip using the OtoZen application. If you have provided all required permissions and are in the proximity of the Pod, OtoZen automatically records the Trip.
